About Annette
Since Dr Matt opened Small Friends Veterinary Hospital in 2004 my role has evolved. Some of you may remember the early days when I was the receptionist, veterinary nurse, business manager, pamphlet deliverer, cleaner, book keeper, website editor and most importantly wife. Now I have a new CEO, our son, Gilbert. Our small friend Gerald has really hit the jackpot now…not only does Daddy work from home and get to spend lunchtimes with Gerald, now Mummy and Gilbert are home all day! Of course, you do see me occasionally in Small Friends as I still take care of all the business and “behind the scenes” work, and cover for Kristine and Tara when they are on holidays.
I started my working life as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. When Dr Matt came up with the idea to open his own veterinary hospital I took myself back to school and studied Small Business Enterprise Management in the evenings whilst continuing to work in nuclear medicine.
I thoroughly enjoy my work at Small Friends. Not only do we have a great team who I enjoy spending time with, I really enjoy meeting and helping people and their small friends. As those close to me know, Gerald was our “first born” and is a very important part of our family life. I am so proud to have helped create a veterinary hospital that offers the kind of care, attention and good medicine that my small friend Gerald (and all small friends) deserves and one that recognises the important role that small friends play in their family.
