Gerald's Jive - Sixth Edition

Who would have thought my life could get any better? Well, it has and I will tell you how.

Late last year this new girl started hanging out at Small Friends. I wasn't too sure about her at first. She hadn't been here before and unlike most people coming into Small Friends, didn't have a small friend with her. I was a bit suspect as to her motives for a while. She smelled ok, and I actually could smell traces of small friends on her but they were never actually with her. Weird. She would pat me when I let her, and she obviously knew who I was using my name whenever she saw me. Mummy and Daddy seemed to like having her around but I wasn't so sure.

Next thing I know she is dressing like Mummy. Same top. Is she trying to be Mummy? Then I noticed at morning teatime she was allowed to stay! Normally it's just Mummy, Daddy and I. We have a nice little morning tea and discuss what is going on in the world. Anyway; ever since the morning teas started she hasn't left. She has been here for some of almost everyday. Turns out, she is staying at Small Friends and helping Mummy and Daddy with their work. Her name is Kristine. I know, it is a shame it doesn't start with a "G" like most cool names, but it's ok as she is actually really nice.

So now I have three people who make a fuss of me everyday. See isn't life wonderful? Kristine thinks I am pretty cool I think, as she always gets excited when she sees me. Every day I get a lovely pat and scratch from her. I am especially glad she came along as it means Mummy now has more time to spend in the office and when Mummy is in the office I am allowed to stay in the office too!!! I like it there as it is really close to the vet side of things and I can keep an eye and ear on what is going on. Not to mention it gives Mummy a chance to help me on the computer so I can write my article.

You guys will really like Kristine. She likes all kinds of small friends. The reason she smells of small friends is that she has heaps of them at home – a dog, a cat, and some big friends too a horse, chickens and sheep! I am happy to share her with you, just like I share my Mummy and Daddy but just make sure she doesn't run out of energy to pat me OK? I really love having her around as well as Mummy and Daddy – a schnauzer just can't get too much love.

Until next time,

Gerald
