Gerald's Jive - Fourth Edition
I love Christmas Day!!! The whole day is great fun for me. There is always the problem though of letting Santa know what I would really like for Christmas. Although I can type, I can't write, so writing a letter to Santa is not an option for me. I've not been able to locate an email address for the North Pole, so I have had to resort to dropping clues to my parents as to what I want for Christmas, and hope they let Santa know. My clue dropping is pretty good, considering I am not actually allowed to touch the toys that are for sale. Lately when I walk into the waiting room to visit Mummy and Daddy at morning tea time, I wander slowly passed the shelves and stick my head into the shelf holding all the Kongs, I stand there and sniff for a while, turn and look up at my Mummy to make sure she is watching me and then when our eyes have met I look back at the Kongs and then turn and jump up onto her lap for a cuddle. Of course I have had a Kong for years, but my outside toys have to stay outside (something about mud and gunk not being welcome indoors) - I would love to have an inside Air-Kong as well. I do try and bring my Kong in from the backyard but I usually get caught out and have to take it back outside again. Of course gifts are very nice and all, but the best part about Christmas Day is getting to spend ALL day with Mummy and Daddy. I also get a couple of walks!! The first one is my normal walk (and on Christmas day this walk is in preparation for all the food they will consume that day) and the second one is the "guilt walk" for all the food they did actually consume through the day. I don't care what the reason I just love to get out and about with them. I am very patient with the whole "dressing up Gerald" caper over Christmas too. I mean all year round I really enjoy wearing my Yap Wear coats and skivvies - they serve a purpose. My raincoat obviously keeps me warm and dry, and the reflective star helps to keep me visible when we are out at night. My skivvy is awfully handy just after I have had a haircut and am feeling a little nippy. But the red hat and scarf is really just for looks isn't it? I only put up with it because Mummy and Daddy enjoy it so much. We have come to an agreement that I will wear it and pose for the photos but I will not move. Not a muscle. I do always get a treat afterwards so…every cloud… I hope you all enjoy your Christmas and New Year and that you too get to spend some quality time with your family (and that if they feel guilty for all they've eaten you get out and about for that extra walk!) Until next time, Gerald » More Gerald's Jive |
