Education 2008
This one day course covered communication and how to be an effective communicator, how to professionally and politely handle phone calls, and how to successfully deal with many jobs and ensure they are all completed in a timely and correct manner. The reception course was an interactive way of demonstrating the importance of effective reception work, and it complemented the in-house training we have been receiving at Small Friends Veterinary Hospital. Essentials of Veterinary Anaesthesia This course was carried out via correspondence. Over a six week period we covered pre-anaesthetic assessment, anaesthesia risks, effects of disease (kidney, cardiac, neurological etc) on an anaesthetic, different anaesthetic protocols, dealing with anaesthesia in emergency situations, and monitoring anaesthetics manually and using electronic equipment. This was a great course. Focusing exclusively on anaesthesia meant the course went into much more detail than the veterinary nursing TAFE qualification, covering many aspects of animal anaesthesia including the most up to date veterinary nursing practices. |
